Evesham Nursery School is the only local authority (LA) maintained nursery school in Worcestershire. Local authority maintained nursery schools must employ a headteacher and teachers who have qualified teacher status (QTS) just like a headteacher and class teachers in any other primary or secondary school. The headteacher and teachers lead a team of specialist early years practitioners to provide education for pre-school children.

As such, a LA maintained nursery school is inspected under the Ofsted framework for schools. This means it receives a different kind of inspection to those received by other childcare providers.
